This Side of the Whirlwind: The Angels Asked

The Angels Asked

Have you ever seen an Angel?

I did, when I was nine years old.  It was in the skies overhead when I saw it.  The Angel simply looked at me and smiled.  Then I was immediately filled with the Holy Spirit and began to hear God’s voice.  Truly an amazing experience!

During the course of our ministry this question occasionally comes up, so we’ll address it.

Here goes…

Who are the Children of God scripture alludes to in Revelation 7:13-14; you know, those Saints of God clothed in white robes?

Well, according an Angel of the Lord, and I quote: Continue reading

The Night Watch

(An Ongoing Saga by Steven R. Harrel)

(Taken from concepts found in “This Side of the Whirlwind”)

Thursday, October 19th, 2017, One day after the Chicago Incident

The shouting could be heard as far away as Lou Mitchell’s Bakery and Market on Jackson Blvd; that would be equivalent to about two blocks in any direction.

“I don’t care what your stinking excuse is Jax, you somehow allowed those two-bit preachers to dodge us all night, time and again!” Sandar said yelling in Jax’ face, “And I can’t believe you’re blaming Julia for stopping you!  It would’ve been, uh, uh, such perfect timing.” Raising his voice another decibel Sandar shouts, “Aah, you imbecile!”

Outrage coloring her face, Julia joins the shouting spree, “Listen here, Mr. Sakarri, I will not be spoken about or to in that fashion!  Jax neither allows nor…!”

“Ah, shut up you stupid woman!  You ruined everything!” Sandar sneers at Julia as he turned towards Jax again. Continue reading

Oh God, What If?

The Quest:

Oh God, what if –

I were to You obey –

With all my life, through all my days,

endure my cross, obey Your will,

regardless the pain or strife I feel

Bear humiliations and sorrow’s

cold breath

Brave disgrace and live bereft

Face the choice of a martyr’s short, short life

Just to live my life for Christ?

To Sacrifice:

The Chicago Incident

(An Ongoing Saga by Steven R. Harrel)

(Taken from concepts found in “This Side of the Whirlwind”)

Wednesday, October 18th, 2017, early morning…

Mike Maylers and TS Whirlwind arrived early to Chicago’s University campus.  Without question the two friends knew they were behind enemy lines here at Chicago U.  They arrived early to ensure they could set up for Mike’s presentation in Polonsky Hall before opposition could arrive and create obstacles.

According to Dr. Maylers, presentations at Universities were well worth the troubles they evoked given the opportunities they also provided for networking and connections and meeting scientists he would not otherwise likely meet.  “Chicago U,” he said, “provided just such an environment with several Scientists’ writings suggesting friendly advocacy towards Intelligent Design (ID).” Still, opposition was likely and even expected in these bastions of Darwinian obstinacy.

Just two week earlier protests on this very campus, though in a different Hall, stifled Doctor Fredric Tour, a Professor of Chemistry and Theoretical Mathematics from the University of Harvard.  Doctor Tour’s presentation focused on Nano-Technologies, graphene nanoribbons and some of the more recent scientific developments in science including both Biological and non-Biological Systems; pointedly, Dr. Tour’s areas of scientific research in many cases robustly supported Intelligent Design, leastwise with regards to the origins of first life and or proto-cellular development. This Side of the Whirlwind: Favorite Book Review!

October 18, 2016

Full disclosure: Steve Harrel is my dad.

At a cursory glance, one might consider my opinion biased. And it is but from this proximity comes a review that only I could write- a review of the author’s character.

My earliest memories of my dad are him singing praise and worship and to this day that’s what you’re going to get if you spend even a day with him. His life goal is to see God’s Name lifted high.

My dad’s integrity is like something out of an old western: say it like it is and prize honor over saving face. He will tell the truth without pulling punches and he will be the first to tell you how he is a sinner saved by grace. With that intensity comes a few more exclamation points then I would have liked in this book : ) He’s a passionate man and that carries over into his writing style : )

About 12-13 years ago I remember my dad buying a giantic white board and plotting out all the references in the Bible to the “End Times”. It was a staple fixure in our home through my teenage years. He’s spent all these years digging through the Word to pull out the truths that only God could have mapped out for its sheer grandness. He includes this chart in the book in a graph and it’s mind-blowing seeing all the “fore thought” God put into the latter days. Thankfully, my dad helped make it much easier to follow along then having to do this yourself.

Something that struck me about this book was the volume of Scripture included throughout. My dad will challenge you time and time again to look at the Word for yourself and see if his conclusions hold up to the Word. One thing my dad instilled in me is that I also have the ability to say it like it is and after reading this book, I feel

that it is sound with the Word.

The End is coming and as Jesus and Paul said (Luke 12:56/Romans 11:25/1 Thessalonians 4:13) we are to be informed about the times in which we live. Are you?

Book Review from:

About the author
Steven R. Harrel is a Christian singer/songwriter/musician and blogger. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1976-1983. He married his childhood sweetheart and lives in Tucson, Ariz.

I received a complimentary copy.

Cassandra’s Review-  A very long written book that takes quite a bit of time to go through, really I would need so much more time to go back and re read certain parts.  The main things you will need to read this book with understand is a strong faith in God and previous knowledge of the Bible.  The author takes you into his thoughts and his belief so it is up to you as the reader to pick and choose through it all and get what you think is the key points.  Now everyone has so many ideas and ways to go about putting out this kind of information, so you will also need an open mind.   If anything this book will cause a discussion.

From Steven R. Harrel

I haven’t found a single negative review YET, but if I come across one I’ll pass it on too. Have a blessed day! 🙂

Book Review from a, David McClendon

David McClendon, Sr rated it it was amazing
We are very strong Christians, but somewhat confused by end of times prophecy. Therefore, we cannot discuss how Biblically accurate Steven R. Harrel may or may not be in This Side of The Whirlwind.

This book is well-written and certainly well-researched. Harrel makes some good points in the book that are worth considering.

Whereas we cannot be very helpful in terms of debating the concepts Harrel introduces, we can state that he shows where his references come from and he does a good job explaining why he believes the way he does.

We give this Side of The Whirlwind all five stars. It is educational. We think one would learn a lot from this book and it may give any Christian plenty of material to ponder.

This is not a fast read. It should be read slowly, with several translations of the Bible close at hand.

We were sent a complimentary copy of this book. We are under no obligation to write any review, positive or negative.

We are disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

8/19/19 Happy – Happy – Happy Prophecy?

, ,

Happy Blogs?

Who does NOT like Happy, Happy, Happy Posts?

But can we only have happy Posts?

It’s troubled me of late to notice how many people only seem mature enough for the happy posts. BUT, we are living in the Last of the Last days.

How do we know this?

The same way the Priests of Jesus’ day should have known the Messiah was coming.

Prophecy and that fulfilled!

Today! – – – Continue reading
