I’ve heard said or implied that our lives are not our own because God knows our every moment in this life (Romans 8:29).

Crowd of people using cell phones in street, smiling

And for this reason, our lives are like videos being played out. We are just automatons taking preplanned steps and not making our own futures or choices.

Not so! No way and no way how! (Hey, is that proper American-English?)

First of all, I’m not implying that human perception or foresight is the same as our Creator’s prescience (all knowing capacity); rather, I am about to use a familiar element in our lives as an example; a way to see this element of God from our perspectives.

When I send my 8 year old little boy out to work on the lawn or fix a fence (in Tucson Arizona) when it’s 106 degrees outside… I know he is going to get overly warm, grouchy and complain… a – lot!

But that does not mean I established his every step or made him become grouchy or sunburned, NOPE! AND, he still needed to learn how to work in difficult and uncomfortable circumstances; without griping, hopefully.

Neither does the locked pattern or version of a person in a movie mean they are or were forced to take certain actions because we can replay that movie. Movies are fixed aspects of the physical world fixed in linear time.

Each of these scenarios are physically world-bound (physical-world) truths and elements.

The Creator (God) transcends our Laws of space and time; He is beyond our physical-universe and had to be in order to create this plane of physical existence.

Just because the Creator knew everything we were going to say and or do does not mean HE governed or ascribed those, our every action. And; of course, that relates to all the physical world going on around us as well; leastwise, at that very moment.

Rather, knowing who we are and what we are all about does not play into God’s knowing or forming our every move.

God knows – because HE is God!

We learn from Romans 8:29: For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

For whom He (God) foreknew (had foreknowledge of or saw their entire existence to be), He also predestined (HE set in motion those things which would best lead that person to a relationship with their Creator and eternal salvation.) to be conformed (so that they could or would have the best chance and opportunity to be transformed into a more Christ-like person or at least a similitude of Christ.) to the image of His Son, that He (Christ Jesus) might be the firstborn (Have preeminent position) among many brethren (all of us who are transformed into the likeness and image of Christ).

Check out this amazing truth from Psalms 139:13-16

13) For You (God) formed my inward parts (who they are and would be); You covered me in my mother’s womb.

14) I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made (crafted); Marvelous are Your works, (He’s referring to you, His creation) And that my soul knows very well. (Your soul already knows that you were wonderfully created.)

15 My frame was not hidden from You (You were not a secrete to the Creator), when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Your eyes, oh Lord, (repeated for affect) Your eyes, oh Lord, saw my substance, being yet unformed. Written in Your book, were all the days of my life, though as yet, I had not lived a single day.

It is so nice to think about those whom HE foreknew that will one day be conformed into the likeness and image of Christ…

But, let us not forget the make up of our world… the literal multitude of persons whom HE foreknew… and they were not and never will be conformed or transformed into a likeness of Christ… or become a Saved individual. Not so pretty for them!

Remember, John 3:17-18

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And then there is John 3:36

36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

It’s good to be WITH the KING. Praise the Lord, I’m with the King!

Let us not forget to count our blessings!

Remember, Them whom HE foreknew… means – everyone!

The King is coming soon!
