The Second Half of Christ’s Covenant 2
How about another question?
Did you know — that as a Christian you are saved by the blood of the Lamb? There is NO OTHER name under heaven by which you MUST be saved.
This is a True statement!!!
The majority of Christians would answer this question in the affirmative.
And it is true; we are saved by the blood of the Lamb;
- the Lamb, of course, meaning Jesus of Nazareth, (Revelation 5:1-6)
- our Savior, (Jude 1:25)
- the Son of the Living God, (John 3:14-17)
- the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5)
- and literally God Himself Jude 1:25)
- as Jesus (Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 9:6)
- “The Word of God” made Flesh (John 1:1-14).
However, if you asked 99% of Christians about the mechanics behind their salvation… i.e. What did Jesus actually fulfill or do in the heavens to save our souls… few would be able to answer you correctly.
Most could not tell you where to go to find those prophetic steps Jesus literally fulfilled so that we might be SAVED…
Most Believers would simply say, John 3:16…
For God so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten Son and whosoever believes in Him might not perish but have everlasting life!
Many Christians however, would simply say:
“I don’t know,
But I’m saved by the blood of the Lamb
And such is the truth!
Though we should know this truth, most Christians don’t know the exact step by step processes Jesus prophetically fulfilled so that we might receive our salvation; and that, at Jesus’ expense;
Remember, the Bible tells us we are REQUIRED to study God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15) so we might be able to rightly divide God’s Word of Truth.
Most Believers, though familiar with the Bible’s New Testament model for Salvation… could not begin to explain the actual mechanics Jesus fulfilled in His physical ministry both here on earth and in the Heavens;
Consequently, few if any Christians would know or understand that Jesus giving His divine-life for our sins accomplished enormous feats between God and humanity sealing a breach formed by Adam millennia ago.
So, let’s get to it!
Even fewer could explain how and why God set forth the Seventy Weeks of Daniel prophecy or how HIS Son would one day fulfill the first 4 of 6 amazing edicts; edicts mandated to be fulfilled by the Messiah and/or Savior of our souls.
The edicts were and are conditional elements of a divine contract forged between God and humanity; edicts whose fulfillment were requisite to providing the steps of salvation needed so everyone who accepts Jesus as Lord and Master; everyone who calls upon Jesus’ name could enjoin the Charter and thereby receive eternal salvation by the Grace of God.
During Jesus’ 3½ years of ministry which included His death and resurrection the first half of Christ’s two part contract was fulfilled. Jesus fulfilled and brought to us individually a state of holiness, unblameable-ness and unpunishable-ness.
We are holy, unblameable and unpunishable in the sight of God, His Father! Wow, if that doesn’t make you shout Hallelujah I don’t know what would!
The Bible refers to this first half of the covenant as:
The Blessings half of the contract! (Isaiah 61:2a)
That’s right, Ladies and Germs your salvation was purchased; visa-via…
THE Blood of the Lamb “the blood of God” – which satisfied the Blood-Sacrifice element of the prophecy – thus, the required payments for our sins and the sin of the WORLD were met!
The wages of sin being death = And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. (Hebrews 9:22)
Jesus, the Sacrificial Lamb died in our stead. Jesus the sinless died for the sinner.
In this, Jesus paid for the Blessings half of the Contract of Jesus Christ and gave it to us freely if we are willing and yield to the contract enough to call upon the name of Jesus…
In other words… “Calling Jesus Lord and Master and also choose to believe God His Father raised Jesus from the dead for our benefit.
It is an act of faith and contrition.
If you did not know this already, then it is important for you as a Christian to understand YOU entered into a binding Blood-Contract with God (Jude 1:25) which Jesus paid FOR YOU and therefore, Jesus is your Savior! (Romans 10:9-11)
EVERY Christian died into the death of Jesus (wages of sin is death) and every Christian will be resurrected into new life through the resurrection of Jesus the First-Born from the dead (Colossians 1:12-22). Such is the “Blessing’s Half” of Christ’s Covenant; Jesus died and resurrected for us if we accept His death and resurrection in our stead.
Everyone else who DID NOT accept Jesus’ condition, dies in their sins and reaps the whirlwind of God’s Judgment or the Curses Half of the Covenant!
Note again: the Blessing’s Half of Christ’s Contract or Covenant!
Also take note: the Curse’s Half of Christ’s Covenant or Contract!
- “Behold, I (GOD) set before you today a blessing and a curse:
- the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you today;
- and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today. (Deuteronomy 11:26-28 NKJV; slightly modified so you can get what I’m saying)
We’ll tough on “The Second Half of Christ’s Covenant 3” next time.
If you are a signatory on the contract then Jesus IS suppose to be YOUR LORD and MASTER.
So… is HE?
