My Walk with God
You should know this is part 2 of a three part blog beginning with: https://thissideofthewhirlwind.wordpress.com/2018/06/01/steven-r-harrel-part-1-true-life-38/
I have been saved and known the Lord since I was merely seven years old; although, I did not truly become a converted Believer and follower of the Lord until I was 25 years old, my life has evolved through an amazing series of events in which God blessed me to hear His voice and see His visions and know His profound Words of Knowledge. My life has ultimately been one long and glorious series of encounters since before I was even conceived.
Well, you can learn about the early days beginning with this True-Life post: https://thissideofthewhirlwind.wordpress.com/2016/05/04/this-side-of-the-whirlwind-true-life/
Okay, let’s jump to a time from August of 1984 thru the summer of ’85 when the Lord called me into ministry by sending eight identical or nearly identical prophecies (a fulfillment of a pray and promise I first made several years earlier in 1980). The first seven prophecies are mentioned above during my cliff-side encounter with DAD/God the Father as some call HIM.
IN each of these prophecies the Lord said He was going to order my steps and open numerous paths of ministry so that a multitude of people would see and hear what God wanted me to say in His name. At that time I didn’t have a clue what the Lord was talking about. By the way all of this was to be accomplished in His perfect timing and with His divine purpose/s. You can read about these prophecies verbatim in:
True Life 5> Prelude to a Prophecy (Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt) The prophecy which changed the course of my entire life.
True Life 6> The Prophecy Continues:
True Life 7> Hearing God Audibly (“Have I fulfilled this prophecy in your life?” No my Lord.)
True Life 5-7> Cleaning up a Few Details
I hope these True-Life stories bless you and help you find a deeper walk with Jesus.
Believe it or not… there is a very good reason I’m sharing these events with you. We’ll get into that in the third post.
Years later, through a different set of six identical prophecies, the Lord spoke “to – and” through me as He called me out of the workforce and out of all ministry and sent me on a protracted faith walk. In this faith-walk the Lord had me remain (for the most part) in my home until God told me otherwise. Remember… follow your last set of orders until they are changed.
Living out the prophecy in question began in 1990 and continued for more than 28 years.
In case you’re wondering… the Lord did not require me to remain literally in my home or on my property; rather, I was to pull away from everyone and everything I’d previously known and spend the next 28 years of my life (leastwise to this point) in and around my home; ostensibly learning and growing in the things of God, His Word and His marvelous grace. Believe it or not, it has been a truly tough prophecy to follow; wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
So, in that Word of Knowledge given 6 times over 5 months, the Lord said He was sending me into obscurity where I was to remain until He instructed me otherwise… and so I/we/my family waited on the Lord. Thank the Lord, I was the only one of us that needed to be removed from the work-force and ministry.
Then in 1998, now 8 years later, as I was in a Christian bookstore looking over a book regarding the Pre-Tribulation Rapture teachings; you know, the Great Tribulation concepts and teachings.
At any rate, I began thumbing through the book when the Lord spoke into my spirit and mind saying, “I don’t want you reading anything anyone else has written regarding the End of Days. I also want you to stop watching the News on television or listening to the News on the Radio or reading the News in any Newspapers.” Though I didn’t know why the Lord was requiring this of me; I decided to obey.
Again, another 8 years passed, 16 years has now elapsed with me in this place of obscurity, waiting on the Lord, waiting for another Word of Knowledge which I hoped would lead me or release me back into a normal Christian life.
Here is what the Lord sent: the Lord spoke to me and said He wanted me to go to a Pastor’s conference in Phoenix, Arizona which was taking place that March.
Then from March of 2006 until the summer of 2006 the Lord sent several prophetic Words of instructions through a variety events. Ultimately, the Words of the Lord instructed me to write a book on the End of Days, the Great Tribulation.
It sort of began in March, while I was at that Pastor’s conference in Phoenix, where the Lord spoke these few Words, “Habakkuk 2:3 in the NIV”. That was it, “Habakkuk 2:3 in the NIV”.
Then after returning home, about one week later, while we were still in the month of March, the Lord sent an old friend to our home and to our recording studio (ostensibly to record). However, before we had a chance to start recording my lady friend – Joni – said she’d received a Word from the Lord that very morning and she wanted to share the messages with me before doing any recording. I told her to go for it, so Joni pulled out her “NIV” Bible and turned to Habakkuk 2:2-3 which says:
Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. 3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” (Habakkuk 2:2-3 NIV)
After reading Habakkuk and discussing the passage for a moment Joni said she had more and then turned to the book of Joel, chapter 2: verses 28-32 which refers to the End of Days and the Blood-Moons and the coming of the great and terrible Day of the Lord. This passage in Joel speaks of the sun, moon and stars being darkened; you know, “The Day of the Lord”.
In a nutshell, all of the imagery in that section of scripture is End-Times related.
Finally, near the end of the summer in 2006, the Lord speaks to me again and tells me to write a book containing that information which the Prophets Daniel and John were told to conceal in (Daniel 8:14-26; Daniel 12:4-9). In these sections of scripture Daniel is told to shut up the words of his End Times message and to seal the book until the time of the end!
Then in Revelation 10:1-11 John is also told to write not the words that the Seven Thunders had uttered.
When you consider that the vision Daniel experienced in Daniel 12:5-7 is nearly identical to the vision John experiences in Revelation 10:1-11. Coincidence you might ask… Noooo!
So I wrote the book which the Lord commanded written. The book in question is titled,
“This Side of the Whirlwind, The Coming Apocalypse”.
Okay, we’ll hit on part 3 next time.
Until then I hope you’ll read more of the True-Life series or blogs on the Great Consummation and or elements of what God is and will continue doing as we are now living in these Latter Days!
Time is shorter than most would want to believe.
Though we know the Great Tribulation or Great Consummation will take place one day… nearly everyone finds it hard to believe that “ONE DAY” or someday is nearly NOW.
It is happening!
AND it is time to prepare!
Because the Body of Christ/Christians will be going through the Tribulation Period or Great Tribulation because it is not the Wrath of God; rather, it is merely the crucible before God’s Wrath.
That is why Jesus said in the New Testament more than 8 times in one form or another:
“He who ENDURES to the END shall be SAVED!”
If Believers were Raptured before the Tribulation – hit the fan – then what in the world would we need to endure?
Watch for part 3 coming soon. 🙂
