Accepting the Challenge!, God is Great!, Hearing God's Voice, Steven R. Harrel for This Side of the Whirlwind, The Beast, The End Times, The Great Consummation, The Great Tribulation, The Latter Days, The Mark of the Beast
Hey Whirlwind Fans, what a wonderful day AND age to be a Christian!
How many of us have voiced the idea that we wished we could have lived, if even for a short while, during the days of Jesus Christ?
Would it not have been amazing to sit on some wall and witness Jesus in the press of the crowd cry out, “Who touched Me!”? You know the encounter Jesus experienced with the woman who suffered from an issue of blood for twelve years. (Luke 8:43-48)
Maybe we could have watched as this woman slipped up behind Jesus and just barely touch the hem of His garment? Don’t you know she had to be surprised when Jesus outed her that day. Man, wouldn’t that have been a trip?
Or, how would it have been to witness Jesus as He sat in His home “church/synagogue” in Nazareth following His 40 days fasting in the wilderness. Can’t you just imagine Jesus – as that lone figure – sitting/standing in the midst of His family and friends and the Rabbis He grew up with/around and declaring Himself the fulfillment of the Messianic Prophecies in Isaiah 61:1-2a; wow, what guts! (Luke 4:14-30) You know that nearly got Jesus throw off a cliff!
Well, guess what… that’s you and I as a family of Believers have a similar privilege today.
We are that generation with the honor of living through the Tribulation Period of the Great Consummation during the Latter Days.
You know the Great Consummation or great completion of Christ’s covenant; leastwise, the second half of that covenant.
What an honor!
Remember, Jesus’ ministry of 3½ years represented and fulfilled the first half of Christ’s seven year covenant taken from Daniel 9:24-27; the blessings half.
The Great Consummation will represent and fulfill the Curses or Judgment half of that same covenant. In fact scripture said, “He shall confirm a covenant with many for one 7 year period” (alright, that was slightly paraphrased, but only slightly.)
Think about it…
Thousands of years from now when Christians from every age and time are telling amazing true stories about the life and times they lived… when we Believers are all just sitting around some golden eternal campfire in the heavens… “WE” will be that group of Believers who were fortunate enough, courageous enough and faithful enough to successfully live through the Great Consummation; one of the most significant Biblical eras in the history of God’s Creation.
NOW… don’t you want to meet this challenging era as a grown-up Christian/Believer in Jesus Christ?
Do you “Whirlwind Fans” know what I’m talking about?
Bear in mind, Christians often describe other Christians or Believers by using the vernacular: Baby-Christians or Mature-Christians. Sometimes I say, “teeny-bopper Christian”.
We, the Body of Christ are about to enter one of the most challenging biblical ages the world will ever experience; a time of trouble unlike any other in the history of our world.
As for me and my Christian family, I would like to see as many Believers as possible reach their majority as Believers.
Imagine going into the wilderness, desert, forest or tundra with a group of Baby-Christians.
Believers still steeped in the pettiness of ego; envy; strife; pride or just down-right childishness in their walks with God.
Imagine if we were talking about you personally. Oh, that’s right… we are… and me too!
I know, it is difficult to be objective about our own personal walk in Christ Jesus.
What made me think about this subject today was a beautiful event which recently took place in the life of one of my grandchildren. I’m smiling and brimming with pride in her as I write…
My little 6 year old G-daughter still slept with her first baby-blanket – though now it was tattered and torn and not just a little – okay – I’ll say it – stinky.
My lovely wife, her G-ma had only a couple days earlier given our G-daughter a new soft and cuddly blanket which Emerie, our G-kid loved. Aaaaah (sweet little weeping emoji here).
After a couple of nights had passed the little cutie was heading to bed for the night when she took notice of how old and tattered her longtime baby-blanket had become. Upon reflection, she then turned to her G-ma Pam and asked how old she needed to be before she should toss her special blanket.
Believe it or not, that evening she decided to let go of that ever present sense of security and take another step towards growing up. Wow, just six years old and she already knows she needs to eventually give up childish things. After tossing her blanket in the trash she turned to G-ma and said, “I guess I’m growing up now grandma because I’ll soon be going into 2nd grade.”
So I ask, brother or sister in Christ, what things from your former non-Christian life are you still holding on to?
If you are still a baby or teenager in Christ that’s one thing; however, if not step it up and grow up a bit. The question is… are you still hanging onto those things from your non-Christian life – things that are holding you back from a greater walk in Christ Jesus?
For example: do you have an established and solid prayer life?
If not, why or why not?
Do you regularly “study” your bible?
If not, why or why not?
Are you consistently fellowshipping with “Sold-Out Believers” or are you still, STILL… hanging out with your non-Christian buddies from your past?
Remember, we are who we hang out with. That is just the way it is for most people.
I guess for most… it boils down to this question:
Are you really in the Army of God or are you just some weekend warrior after a fashion?
You see, this question is truly important and you need to be honest with yourself.
Very soon in fact, possibly in the next few years… you – your friends – your family will be asked and later compelled to take “The Mark”.
It will be the new currency mandated by governments all over the world.
The Mark will not be presented in just one format or piece of technology; no, like cell phones and computer pads or smart wallets the “Mark of the Beast” will be constructed using numerous platforms, manufacturers and brand-names.
Oh, it will not be called “The Mark or Mark of the Beast” but each device will still represent that tool of damnation spoken about in God’s Word. (Revelation 13:11-18 and 14:9-11)
This Christian stuff is real!
The Mark of the Beast is only the beginning of why we need to be adult Christians.
Imagine if you will…
The only way you can keep your job is by capitulating to your employer and taking the implant.
The only way you can keep your home is by getting the new implanted microchip technology.
The only way you can keep your children in school is if they receive the new government sanctioned microchip. After all, loving parents would want their children to have this tech because if something happened to the child then the child could be located and or his or her medical records would be readily available and obviously the only way they could receive any type of government or medical attention or services would be if they had the new government identification and payment technologies.
People without the new (Mark of the Beast) tech will not qualify.
And let us not forget… if we can’t receive a paycheck, keep our jobs, pay our rent or mortgage then we are out on our proverbial butts without food or the possibility of getting another decent job.
If you are not a mature and determined Child of God then how can you or anyone you know stand up to such potential loss over JUST having a new piece of technology installed in your body?
Remember what God said in Revelation 14:9-12:
Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Jesus also said this in more than seven places in the New Testament:
He who endures to the end will be saved! (Matthew 24:13)
Obviously those who don’t endure to the end do not receive salvation.
Isn’t it time to toss that security blanket?
Or maybe time to lay aside those secular ways or friends or lifestyles?
Ask yourself: Am I ready to resist the Beast and the Mark of the Beast even if it means my death?
What if it means allowing your senior family members to die without institutional medical treatment/medications which will be unavailable when the Mark is required?
To save their immortal souls would you allow your children to starve rather than see them implanted with the Mark? You should be!
Would you abandon your home and leave for either a wilderness area or forest or desert or secluded place in the outback BEFORE you would receive the Mark of the Beast?
You see… we need to be fully grown up as a Christian to effectively face the struggles that will soon come our way as Believers in Jesus Christ.
Tough word today, I know. Be STRONG!
Your brother in Christ, Steven R. Harrel
