Do you know Jesus?

Want to?

It is more than possible to know Jesus in a real and personal way.  In fact, this is what the Lord, Jesus, wants.  He wants to know you and love you and  bring blessings into your life.  If you have never said the sinner’s prayer (which is just a format not a requirement) or asked Jesus to be Lord and Savior of your life you can do so today.

While some suggest salvation is free I am not inclined to put it that way.  Yes, salvation is free; however, the price of salvation is giving your all to Christ.  He becomes our Savior, but He is also to become your Lord and Master.  When you get involved with Jesus He gets involved with you… Scripture tells us that we need to confess Jesus as Lord and believe in our heart God raise Him from the dead.  There are reasons for these steps you may not understand at this time before you actually know the Lord.

Here is a scripture step towards getting to know Jesus:

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.   (Romans 10:9-10 NKJV)

You should know… Jesus as Lord means Jesus as the Almighty Supreme God.

He become your Master, boss, Big Daddy in the sky.

Jesus knows… that with our hearts we accept Him within our souls.

This is a Contract with your Creator; no small thing.

You should realize… With our “Mouths” we openly confess to our peers, family and friends “Jesus as our Lord.”  He become the Lord of our lives and then through confession He is our salvation.  We can’t hide that little light of salvation under a basket, He will not let us for long.  It is an “all-In” proposition.

Jesus as Lord means: Jesus as Master of your life.  Too many people say or think there is no cost to becoming a Christians.  Baloney!  My entire life is consumed by my walk with the Lord.  God is real and interacts in your life.  My life has never been so full, exciting, challenging and wonderful.  God gets involved.

You may ask, do I have bad days?  I’m human aren’t I?  Don’t ask my wife that question, she thinks I’m a baboon. 🙂

Here is a simple prayer that helps in the process of accepting Jesus as Lord.

“A” Sinner’s Prayer (not the):

Jesus, I need you. I know I am a sinner and I am asking you to forgive all my sins. I choose to believe you died to pay for my sins. And I believe you were raised from the dead that I might be resurrected at your return. I open my heart and life to you and choose to receive you as the Master and Savior of my life. Thank You for forgiving me, loving me, and setting me free from sin. I give you permission to make me the person you want me to be. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen!

So, before you get saved, after you are saved, while you are being saved you can ask for the infilling of the Holy Sprit.  Anyway God wants the Infilling to happen in your life.  God knows if your heart is genuine.

Here is what you need to know to receive the Baptism into the Holy Spirit or Holy Spirit Infilling; same thing.

Jesus said…

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”  (Luke 11:9-13 NKJV)

Now, get into the Bible, the Word of God.  Here is the first way you can get to know your Lord and Savior.  Read His words, know His heart, feel His love in the way He loved others.

In prayer… this is just talking to Jesus.  Jesus is ever present in your life.  What do I mean, Jesus is right in the room with you at this very moment.  Act like it… Talk to Him like you would anyone else, maybe a little more respect, but He can take it when you are angry, hurt, disappointed, happy, elated… you name it, He is God and all knowing.  Spend time getting to know the Lord.  It is work!  But, like you’ve heard other say, when you love your work it isn’t like work.

Thank You for Your wonderful grace and mercy and foresight.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!
