Can we trust anyone who says they have heard from God or intimated God revealed to them future events? No way, they’ve lost their mind! ~ Well, maybe? ~ It’s miry clay.

Miry ClayGenerally we should say no because the commitment to speak accurately in God’s name has become increasingly ambiguous. Let me be clear, this blog is referring to those who actually declare they are speaking for God. Too many people declare a Word has come from God when the message is coming from their own mind or emotions. Excessively, people think they are speaking prophetically and then their prognostications fail to come to pass. That just does not float.

When people have an – anything goes – mindset, prophets and seers can earn people’s trust even when their prophecies do not come to pass? Such is not a Biblical standard.  Some have even defended random prophecies spoken in God’s name by saying, “Oh God put something on their heart and they are just doing the best they can to express God’s message.” Hooey!  He is God! If He cannot pass an accurate message to a sentient-being then He isn’t much of a God.

So when can we believe someone is actually hearing from God? First of all the Word or message must always agree with God’s Word. This is critical! Secondly, if you don’t believe in God, then I suppose you would not believe someone is speaking in His name. However, for those of us who have made a genuine connection and life changing relationship with God we need to be very careful indeed. Be aware, God’s Word established a standard for prophecy several millennia ago (Deuteronomy 18:21-22).

If you say to yourself, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?”  Or in today’s vernacular, how can we know when God is or is not speaking through an individual?

God provided the following answer: “If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.” Again, in today’s vernacular, if the prophecy does not come to pass then they are not speaking for God.

Additionally, once someone has accurately prophesied coming events we can begin to expand our expectations they are likely hearing from the Lord. Over time and with little to no mistakes our confidence can increase. We need to remember God generally speaks through the mouth of two or more witnesses.  It is important for the standard to remain firm.  When mistakes are made, for we are all human, we must remember that all things work together for good to those who are God’s. So, be merciful.

Lastly, we should all be filled with the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 14:32 tells us: The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. Even if you cannot consistently tell when the Spirit is moving, there should be individuals within your church, ministry or Christian circle which can discern God’s move, voice or Spirit. As you pursue a deeper relationship with God, the move of His Spirit should become more apparent.  Jesus’ family can hear His voice.

So there you have it, three ways to discern if it is God who is speaking through an individual in His name.

First television interview for “This Side of the Whirlwind, The Coming Apocalypse.”

Had a great time, lots of fun and oops, too much food!  Truly enjoyed my hikes through Chicago.  The people were extremely friendly and sociable.  Thanks Windy City, and you were windy those days. 🙂

Let me know what you think guys and gals.  Feel free to cut me to shreds or stroke my pride.  I’m sure I could use both.

Either way, bless the name of Jesus, for when we lift up the name of Jesus all men are drawn to Him!

Garden of My Soul

Are you called to feed His sheep?

If your answer is yes, then from where do you get your resources?

If you have not been fed by the Word of God or walked with the Lord in prayer this day from where do you bring that genuine food of the Lord?

We are neither the source nor the well-spring of the Spirit; rather, we are merely the conduit of His wisdom, mercy, grace, power and forgiveness.

Unless we are being, have been fed in the Lord, from where do we feed others spiritual food and nourishment?  After all, we are sent to feed but not from ourselves but from the source?

We are also not the great river of life.

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1 NKJV)

Out of our bellies can flow great and abundant waters which wash clean and satisfy the human soul; but once again, we are not the source.

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38 NKJV)

We must take the time for refreshing, restoring, refilling.

The three “R” can only be truly accomplished when we take time to be in the presence of the Lord, Jesus and fill up on His Word. The Holy Spirit fills us to overflowing and from the overflow we spill God’s love, joy, goodness, mercy and salvation into, onto, through the hearts and lives of Men.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, (Ephesians 5:25-26 NKJV)

Oh to be in the ever lifting, healing and saving presence of our God.

When we experience the presence of God and His love the multitude of our shame in sin is washed away.

When we revel in the presence of our God, true hope and purpose is made clear to our vision and life’s dreams.

What greater, happier place is there to kneel than in the kind presence of our God.

Oh precious Lord, embrace my soul.

For no other can actually, truly touch your soul; not the love of your life, nor your children, or your parents or your closest friend. They may come close, but none but the risen Savior can genuinely commune with you through your deepest soul and being.

Lord, that I and my soul may walk with You in the garden of my heart.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!

If you do not know the Lord, Jesus in a similar fashion to the way I’ve described Him, please contact me and I will be happy to introduce you to our Master and King!

Hero of the Faith

If for a short time you could slip back in time and experience life during the time of Christ just so you could meet Jesus and witness His miraculous life, would you?

Imagine witnessing the miracle of the loaves and fishes; 5,000 people fed from one tiny portion of food, bread and fish.Think what it would be like to watch a crippled and lame man, one whom you’ve known all the days of your life, pick up his pad and walk, run, leap for joy at the healing of his body. In Whom is My Sufficiency?

My Sufficiency is in Whom?

Then

For nearly 40 years of marriage I have watched other couples begin the wonderful journey of marriage only to fall prey to a misplaced desire to be completed by that other person’s relationship or approval or need. We are not completed in married; rather, we become twice in need to become whole and sufficient, because now we have a partner in need too.

Like a love story without a great love or a wick lantern without oil, we are missing a key element, that which brings life and light and warmth and meaning, those thing which are woefully in short supply. We need to know we can never be complete or whole on our own.

More Recent

Why? We were created by God to “need” a relationship with Him; we cannot be whole without His love and interaction.  God is that missing piece to our puzzle of life.

When we find our sufficiency through a relationship with another person we become akin to an oil-lamp with a wick but no oil. Our sense of completeness burns bright and hot for a short while but before long it simply burns out, sorrowfully leaving us wanting.  This is because our need is greater than simple physical need and without the Spirit of God (the oil) fueling our sufficiency we cannot maintain a true state of completeness or wholeness.  Like the lamp, we are lacking the key element which makes it possible to perpetuate the burn of love, joy, peace, life in its fullest measure.  We are not designed to be whole without a relationship with our Creator.   Such is the nature of our human soul. Santos

The packed room fell silent as I nervously proclaimed from the pulpit, “The Lord is telling me… that if you do not come to the Lord tonight, now, then you will die tonight and spend eternity in Hell!”

How would you like to get that Word of Knowledge from the Lord?

May 1990, a revival takes place at the Wilmot State Prison, Santa Rita yard, Tucson, Arizona.

The afternoon of music and ministry was a huge success.

As the Sun began to set and the evening progressed, ministries from all over the South-Western United States began to present their guest-speakers with specialized but short messages for the prison inmates.

7 Years of Trib. Part 4

Shortly after the ascension of Jesus Christ, the nation of Israel was scattered over the face of the earth in order to fulfill prophecy (Deuteronomy 30:1–3). Israel remained in a state of exile until just before 1947. Following Jacob’s Trouble,[1] Israel reemerged as the sovereign state of Israel. Israel’s restoration was the prophetic fulfillment of Jeremiah 16:14–15 and 23:7–8. Israel became officially recognized as a sovereign state on May 15, 1948. This miraculous accomplishment began the Latter Days, which will conclude at the end of the Great Consummation. In fact, until the Great Consummation is completed, God will not redeem the nation of Israel or deliver the chosen people from the laws of sin and death (Romans 11:25–29). Continue reading →

We will pick up where we left off last time with “7 Years of Trib. Part 2.”

7 Years of Trib. Part 3

Revelation 12:6 reveals the nation of Israel received the benefit of Christ’s personal ministry for a period of three and a half years. During this brief period of nurture, Christ delivered the gospel message throughout Israel bringing the Blessing half of the Covenant of Jesus Christ for those three and a half years. In essence “the Child was born,” the child representing Christianity. Israel the Mother birthed the Body of Christ. Through this process Jesus imparted divine wisdom to the Israelites, followed by the blinding in part for reasons which are both important and profound. It is also important to recognize that 1,260 days is equal to three and a half years according to the Hebrew calendar which tabulates on a 360-day calendar year.

Then He (Jesus) shall confirm a covenant with many for one week (seven years); but in the middle of the week (three and a half years) He (Jesus) shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering (Veil rent in two defiling Holy of holies). (Daniel 9:27a–c NKJV)

So, for the first 3½ years of Covenant Jesus establishes and confirms the first half of the Covenant of Jesus Christ with many, not everyone, followed by His death which caused the renting of the veil and the Temple being defiled then bringing the resurrection and promise of new life. Oh yeah, sacrifice and offering ceased because the price for sin and death were paid in full.  Let us therefore kick off our discussion here…

Jesus is the personage of the prophecy to be fulfilled with the first three and a half years representing the first half of a two part covenant spanning seven years.

Revelation 12:6-14 Continue reading →

Revelation 12:1–10

The upcoming section is intended to demonstrate how the seven years of the new covenant is in fact mistaken for the seven years of the Great Tribulation by believers in the Pre, Mid and Post Tribulation doctrines.

Unquestioningly, Jesus began and finished His ministry, the blessings half of the covenant during a period of three and a half years. This could not be coincidence or happenstance. The dividing line within Daniel’s seventieth week (the Seventy Weeks of Daniel prophecy) is intended to take place precisely at the three-and-a-half-year mark. As we should consider all scriptural text in any significant doctrine, Christ’s ministry undeniably provided the first segment of three and a half years for the covenant based on the seventieth week’s fulfillment. The Great Consummation provides the second timeframe of three and a half years completing or fulfilling the last half of the seventieth week. Revelation 12 conveniently conveys both the purposes and timelines which covers both halves of the seventieth week.

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. (Revelation 12:1–2 KJV)

Revelation 12:1–2 presents a woman who denotes the faith of Israel, and bears the child who is The Christ and thus Christianity. The crown of twelve stars on the woman’s head identifies the nation of Israel and Israel’s royalty by faith. Jesus is the figurehead for the church, the leader and forbearer to the Body of Christ. Note how the woman cries in child bearing. Continue reading →

Seven Years of Tribulation

Nearly every tribulation based End Times doctrine mistakenly declares the Tribulation Period will span seven years. In each of these teachings the seven-year time frame was taken from the same biblical source, Daniel 9:24–27, which contains the Seventy Weeks of Daniel prophecy. According to many mistaken teachings, the seven-year period in the prophecy represents the seventieth week or seven year period. Verse 27a to be precise, contains the only reference to this seven-year period most unintentionally mistake for seven years of judgment or wrath from our Creator.  Let’s look at the verse:

  • And He [Jesus/Messiah] shall confirm a covenant with many for one week (seven years): [For proof the pronoun “he” is referring to the Messiah/Jesus turn to “He Shall Confirm a Covenant” pages 77-86 of “This Side of the Whirlwind, The Coming Apocalypse.”]
  • and in the midst of the week (three and a half years)
  • he [Jesus] shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [come to an end],

[The split-versing in verse 27 takes place here separating the text after the words, “offering to cease”. If you are currently unaware of split-versing please check out the following blog for clarification: Continue reading →
