A Great Falling Away

Nations have mindsets, beliefs and opinions just like individuals. Those mindsets change, beliefs ebb and flow and opinions can be just as asinine as yours or mine.

Long ago, approximately 36 A.D. Paul the Apostle prophesied a great falling away would come to God’s people, a falling away from the gospel and the message of God in general. This prophetic utterance related specifically to the Second Coming of Christ and our gathering to meet Jesus in the skies during the Rapture.

Watch for Christ’s Coming!

Paul wrote:

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion [a falling away] occurs and the man of lawlessness [the Beast] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.  (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 emphasis added)

Reports suggest 4000 Christian based churches per year are closing their doors in America and have been doing so over the past several years.

And why not?

The Church has ceased teaching more than mother’s milk to too many of its congregants while at the same time removing responsibility from the Christian to study and know God’s Word.

The Church has also knowingly permitted individuals who are blatantly “living in sin” to hold positions of authority and preach from the pulpit.  Many churches across the United States allow practicing pedophiles, homosexuals, atheists and adulterers to minister from positions of authority and wonder why our young people are blinking at the established Laws of God.

If the pulpit is not guarded from those who are living for themselves first and foremost; if the preachers and pastors don’t truly believe what they are preaching then why should the youth believe anything these individuals teach?

It is one thing for the church to know people are living in sin and quite another for the church to condone behavior forbidden by God and His Word. Such is a sign of the times, the End Times.

Am I saying these individual ought not to preach from any Christian pulpit? You bet I am.

Am I saying preachers and pastors can live perfect lifestyles? No, of course not! However, I am saying that anyone who is unashamedly or without repentance “living in sin” should be forbidden from holding an office or place of authority within the church.

None of us can completely avoid sin in our lives; however, living intentionally and arrogantly in sin is quite different from living to overcome sin and be more like Christ in our daily lives.

Furthermore, an atheist should not be allowed to spread their foolishness to the Body of Christ under any circumstances. Psalms 53:1 states: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Why would anyone listen to the preaching of a fool?

A pastor cannot condone homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle in the eyes of God any more than they could condone a life of adultery or a lying tongue. Sin is sin and even though all have sinned and fallen short of God’s holiness we, as Christians, are called to live as unto Christ.  We are to die to our fleshly lives and live for Christ and the Body of Christ’s advancement.

How can anyone truly wonder why America’s, and the world’s youth are leaving the church?

If the adults do not know why they believe what they believe and they do not truly attempt to follow a Christian lifestyle, then how are they supposed to set the example or teach their little ones that we can abide in Christ?

We are saved by grace through faith; not by works lest some should boast and think they are saved by their own righteousness.

Remember, Jesus said in John 15:9-17

9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

 So this is what is happening in our world; especially Germany; a great falling away has begun. Nearly 200,000 Germans have formally chosen apostasy over walking with Christ or the church.  Baby baptisms have even quickly declined over the last few years by approximately 100,000 per year.  For a better article on Germany’s decline in Christ take a moment to read the following article.

Prophetically, Jeremiah wrote:

“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the LORD. 2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says the LORD. 3 “But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. 4 I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the LORD.

5 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD,

“That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;

A King shall reign and prosper,

And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

6 In His days Judah will be saved,

And Israel will dwell safely;

Now this is His name by which He will be called:

7 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that they shall no longer say, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ 8 but, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell in their own land.” (Jeremiah 23:1-8)

Israel’s reemergence was the fulfillment of verses 7 and 8 above.

We’ll continue this topic soon.  Until then keep reading my book, “This Side of the Whirlwind.”  A divinely proffered prophetic message is contained within.

To God be the glory and may Christ be lifted up at all times and in all ways.
